Every church is a companion...The Greater Milwaukee Synod is officially in a companion synod relationship with the Salvadoran Lutheran Church. This means that each congregation in the Milwaukee Synod is a part of the relationship and is invited to get involved.Sister Parish Relationships...Congregations in the Greater Milwaukee Synod have the opportunity to build specific relationships with congregations or designated ministry partners in the Salvadoran Lutheran Church through their Sister Parish Office. These Milwaukee area congregations are encouraged to designate one or more members to serve on the Greater Milwaukee Synod El Salvador Companion Synod Committee. |

All kinds of congregational involvement...
Congregations from throughout the Greater Milwaukee Synod support the companion synod relationship with the Salvadoran Lutheran Church through prayer and participation in a variety of ministries. Here are some of the other congregations in our synod which are connected with partnership ministries in El Salvador:
- Adoration, Milwaukee supports the general ministries of the Salvadoran Lutheran
- Ascension, Milwaukee participates in the synod committee, supports the Salvadoran Lutheran Church Pastors Endowment Fund and Camp Hope, and is home to Pastor Walter Baires, a missionary pastor from El Salvador who is serving in Milwaukee
- First Lutheran, West Allis and Nativity, Wauwatosa support sewing schools in Lutheran Church communities
- Hephatha, Milwaukee participates in the synod committee, supports educational events and strongly supports the Salvadoran Lutheran Church Pastors Endowment Fund
- House of Prayer, Franklin, led by their youth group, supported the Struggle Against Hunger Projects
- Kingo, Shorewood participates in healing ministries
- Lord of Life, Kenosha participates in healing ministries
- Mount Hope, West Allis has participated in healing ministries and educational events
- Redeemer, Milwaukee participates in the synod committee
- St. Paul's, Kenosha is exploring opportunites for increased connections.
