¡Bienvenidos! Welcome!
Whether you are looking to begin a relationship with the people of El Salvador or whether you have been in accompaniment with Salvadorans for many years, this site is designed to provide you with information, resources and connections. We also invite you to add your comments, stories and insights along the way, so that together, we can grow in our relationships with our Salvadoran brothers and sisters, and with each other.
Members of the Greater Milwaukee Synod El Salvador Committee of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America work to maintain this site. To learn more about the relationship between Milwaukee and El Salvador, use the WHO WE ARE button on the left.
Our prayers continue to be with the people of El Salvador as they cope with flooding from Tropical Storm Agatha (May 30) while still recovering from last November's flooding from Hurricane Ida. Food security, permanent housing, and the relocation of some communities continue to challenge the government and relief agencies. In one Lutheran Church community, 300 families lost their homes and all of their posessions. Your financial gifts for relief efforts may be given through the ELCA, or through Action By Churches Together.
Members of the Greater Milwaukee Synod participated in the march in honor of Archbishop Oscar Romero on March 24, 2010 and have a few photos to share.
